Teachers have a very important role in our community as they help give the next generation the knowledge they need to be successful in life. But many students wonder: “What is it like to be a teacher?”

I decided to answer these questions by interviewing a teacher to see what their everyday life is truly like. For this, I interviewed Mrs. G. Lindquist.
Q. How do you start your morning?
A. I arrive at school around 10 after 7, and go over my plan for the day. Then by around 7:30 students begin coming in.
Q. What are you hoping to achieve each day when you come to work?
A. I hope to make a difference, and to shape minds.
Q. What are some of the positives and negatives of being a teacher?
A. I won’t talk about the negatives, as I don’t want to be a “Negative Nelly”, but the positives are that every day is a new day.
Q. What is some advice for students who wish to eventually become a teacher?
A. The best thing you can do is work hard, and find a college that specializes in training teachers.
From this, I find that being a teacher can be a positive thing (aside from some unmentioned negatives). It also requires a lot of hard work, but is ultimately worth it in the end!
