In a phenomenal display of talent, this show has taken things to a new height. The Brandon Valley High School marching band has once again captivated the audience with their latest show, Coursing Through My Veins. The show has stunning visuals, solos that give audiences chills, and a very sent-through message to all. Combining an eerie and thrilling performance, it stands out as a must-see event of the season.

The show Coursing Through My Veins explores the intensity of raw human emotions, representing the struggles of modern life. Each piece reflects a different aspect of vulnerability, with music choices emphasizing chaos, anxiety, and resilience.

The show features a fascinating soundtrack including the beautiful “ Chandelier” by Sia, the edgy “ Toxicity” by System of a Down, the haunting “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails, and finally, the iconic “Toxic” by Brittney Spears. These selected pieces contribute to the show's overall theme, creating a narrative of tension and release reverberating to viewers.

“Chandelier” features an emotional weight with the stunning choreography and flag work from the color guard and a resonating sound from the band members. “Toxicity” featured by the front line and band has intense beats and edginess from the lyrics, ramping up the energy and drawing the audience into the addicting sound. “Hurt” moves the audience as it is featured by the English horn, played by soloist/dancer Tabitha Choate. “Toxic” starts with the low brass and gradually is played by the whole band, bringing the show to its peak.

Under the direction of Tyler Nettestad, Max Outland, Devon Melillo, Brady DeBelts, and Aubrey Lipetsky, the marching band's attention to detail was evident in every march and note played. The winds hit every crescendo with power and emphasis, while the percussion added nuance dynamics that carried emotional weight to the music.

The Brandon Valley High School’s marching band has set high expectations with Coursing Through My Veins. Their ability to set the demand for eerie themes with thrilling musical choices has made it a memorable experience. As the season progresses, this show is sure to leave a lasting impression as it did for those in the stands that night.
