Varsity and junior varsity cross country had a meet on October 3rd in Watertown at the Cattail Crossing Golf Course. There was relatively good attendance considering it’s finally starting to feel like fall. With a moderate breeze, cloudy, and feeling like 60°, runners stayed bundled up until the start of the race. It was a nice course with flat ground and a few hills.

 

In comparison, it was an unimportant meet, however, everyone competed to the best of their ability. Brandon Valley placed 2nd in girls varsity, 3rd in boys varsity, 2nd in girls junior varsity, and 5th in boys junior varsity. Ten other teams including Brookings, Rapid City Central, Watertown, Harrisburg, Aberdeen Central, Pierre T.F. Riggs, O’Gorman, Huron, Mitchell, and Sioux Falls Washington attended.  

 

Overall Mikah Peters placed first in Varsity boys with a time of 15:33.
